How do I register for the Diabetes Summer Surge?

You can start right now. Click here to be directed to the My Fundraiser system where you can create your account and register your event.

Can family and friends donate to my event through the main website?

No. The “Donate Now” button on the main website makes a donation directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association and is not linked to your Diabetes Summer Surge fundraising event. Ensure your supporters click the donation link through the event invitation you sent out.

Can I send donations using regular mail?

Yes, but DO NOT SEND CASH IN THE MAIL. Please write a cheque on behalf of your supporters and submit with a completed pledge form. You can also pay with your credit card online, filling in their contact information. Click here to download a PDF of the pledge form.

How do I edit my personal event page?

Sign in and select “Customize Your Page” in the menu on the left.

How do I change my personal fundraising goal?

Sign in and select “Edit Goal” in the menu on the left.

How can I see who has donated to me?

Sign in and select “Fundraising” in the menu at the top.

How do donors obtain their tax receipts?

As soon as they make a donation for $15 or more to your event, they are sent an electronic tax receipt via email.

I can’t seem to send an invite to all the people in my Outlook address book. It says that I need to install something called an ‘ActiveX Control’. How do I do this?

You should see a drop down menu appear right above your pop up window that says ‘Install ActiveX’. Follow this link and it will be done automatically for you.

I don’t see the drop down menu. What do I do?

Go into Tools and scroll down to Pop-up blocker and click ‘Turn off pop-up blocker’.

If I have more than one Diabetes Summer Surge event, how do I total all my donations?

There are two ways you can do this:

  1. List all of the events you are planning for your Diabetes Summer Surge on your personal event page and on all your invitations. Don’t forget to indicate the dates of each event.
  2. OR

  3. Set up each event individually so each has its own event page and invitations. When you qualify for a rewards level, contact us so we can verify and update our records.
